Green Superfood Powder Recipe Ideas


Summer Green Smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • sprig of fresh mint

  • juice of half a lime

  • half an avocado

  • a handful of spinach

  • 1 tsp green superfood powder

  • Coconut or almond milk to taste

Blend all ingredients in a blender or processor until smooth. Add some ice cubes to chill your smoothie

Green Spice Smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • half a banana

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder

  • 1 tsp green superfood powder

  • coconut milk or almond milk to taste

Blend all ingredients in a blender or processor. 

Mojito Smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • sprig of fresh mint

  • juice of half a lime

  • ice cubes

  • 1 tsp green superfood powder

  • apple juice

Blend all ingredients in a blender or processor.

Green Super Houmous:

Ingredients:

  • 400g can of chickpeas

  • juice of 1 lemon

  • 3 tbsp tahini

  • 2 tsp green superfood powder

  • 3 tbsp olive oil plus little more for serving

  • 1 garlic clove

  • salt & pepper to taste

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

  • 1-2 tbsp cold water

  • paprika and/or sumac for serving

Put tahini, superfood powder and lemon juice in a food processor and blend for a minute. Push the mixture down the sides, add the olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper and blend for 30 seconds. Push down the sides again and blend for another 30 seconds.

Open, drain and rinse the chickpeas and add half to the mixture and blend for 1 minute. Scrape the bottom and sides of the processor bowl, add the remaining chickpeas and blend for 1-2 minutes. Then turn the blender on and add 1-3 tablespoons of cold water until the mixture reaches the right consistency for you.

Taste and add extra salt, pepper or lemon juice if you wish.

Spoon into a serving dish, sprinkle with paprika and/or sumac, drizzle with olive oil and serve with lightly toasted pitta bread, or with carrot, red pepper and celery sticks for dipping.

OR if you're short of time, you can just stir a teaspoonful of green superfood powder into shop bought houmous and serve with lightly toasted pitta bread or with crudites for dipping



Green Avocado Dip:

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado

  • 1 tsp green superfood powder

  • 2 heaped tsp greek yoghurt or kefir

  • Squeeze of lime juice (to taste)

  • Pinch of salt (to taste)

  • Optiona pinch of cayenne pepper for a kick



Scoop the flesh out of the avocado, mash it, stir in the yoghurt or kefir, squeeze on some lime juice and add salt to taste (and cayenne pepper if using). Mix well. Serve with carrot, celery, cucumber or red pepper sticks for dipping.

Tahini Green Dip 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp tahini

  • juice of half a small lemon

  • 1-2 tbsp water

  • garlic salt (or garlic puree and salt) to taste

  • 1 tsp green superfood powder

Stir the tahini, green superfood powder and lemon juice together then add water a bit at a time, stirring in between, until you reach the right consistency. Add garlic salt or garlic puree and salt to taste.
